$60,000 in Funding for Classroom Projects Donated to Orlando Area Schools – WFTV

ORLANDO, Fla. — The college football season is moving from the field to the classroom.

The College Football Playoff Foundation and Florida Citrus Sports have partnered with Donors Choose to fund classroom projects worth $60,000.

Thirty-eight Orlando-area schools are receiving the funding.

A surprise announcement came Wednesday morning for a senior class sponsor at Jones High School.

The money will go to the school pantry.

“Today is about resources, it’s about recognition, it’s about surprising a teacher and bringing much-needed resources to this community,” officials said.

School officials said the surprise funding for “Miss G’s Morning Wake Up Pantry” will help students stay energized and motivated between meals throughout the day.
