Officials of the Cypress Christian School and the Howard Hughes Corp. confirmed that the local private school will move to Prairieland Village in the planned community of Bridgeland in 2025.

It will move from its current location at 11123 Cypress N. Houston Road, Houston, at the intersection of Prairieland Creek Drive and Bridgeland Creek Parkway.

The new 130,000-square-foot campus will be built on a 40-acre property to accommodate up to 1,000 K-12 students and more than 100 staff, according to a press release. The space will allow the school to expand educational facilities and sports equipment, and accommodate a new fine arts building and ample parking, officials said.

“Thanks to our remarkable families and solidarity, we exceeded our current campus, offering us a unique opportunity to build a larger school in Bridgeland which will allow a greater impact on the lives of our current and future students” Cypress Christian President of the school, Jeffrey Potts said in a statement. “The availability of space in an exceptional, award-winning community allows us to continue our academic excellence mission and biblical values. We firmly believe that this decision is the bridge to our future.

Cypress Christian School is the largest private school in the Cy-Fair area with a current enrollment of nearly 700 students and is on a mission to provide both academic excellence and biblical values.

Earlier this year, the school won the 2020-21 Henderson Cup 4A, which is awarded to the state’s best overall private school based on academic achievement, fine arts and athletics, officials said. from Cypress Christian School. Additionally, the school’s football team won the TAPPS Division III State Championship title in early December.

Howard Hughes Corp. said they were excited to host the school and provide residents with additional education options for their children.

“Bridgeland is home to renowned schools, with a strong educational legacy that has been built over 15 years,” said Heath Melton, regional president of The Howard Hughes Corp., in a statement. “As one of the best-selling blueprint communities in Texas, the number of families choosing to live in Bridgeland is growing rapidly and high quality schools are contributing to this success. Cypress Christian School will be a welcome addition to the number of academic offerings available to residents of Bridgeland.
