Hall joins Tigers as assistant lacrosse coach – Farmville

Seventh-year Hampden-Sydney College lacrosse head coach Jason Rostan (’03) has announced the appointment of Christian Hall as assistant coach. Hall most recently served as an officer in the United States Secret Service in 2021-22, following a year as an assistant coach at SUNY Cortland in 2020-21 which followed two years as a volunteer assistant coach at the Wingate University in North Carolina from 2018-20.

“I am thrilled to welcome Christian to our Tiger Lacrosse family,” Rostan said. “Coach Hall was mentored by two of the wonderful coaches in our sport, Coach Boyle at Wingate and Coach Beville at Cortland, where he was part of two very successful programs during his time at both schools. Most importantly, he is a man of character and I know his leadership will benefit the great student-athletes in our program.

At SUNY Cortland, Hall was part of a coaching staff that earned State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Coaching Team of the Year honors for 2021. The Red Dragons (11 -4) were SUNYAC champions and moved up to the NCAA division. Tournament Round III of 16. He coached the face-off specialists, helped coordinate the offense while overseeing substitution strategy, managed recruiting for the Mid-Atlantic region as well as Florida, La California and Texas coordinated and created content for social media, handled the film’s breakdown and editing, and assisted with strength and conditioning.

At Wingate, his alma mater, Hall also coached the face-off specialists while coordinating a player development program for the face-off and wing units, as well as managing in-game adjustments, as well as the decomposition and editing of films. He also completed a graduate assistant position in compliance and gaming operations during his graduate studies at Wingate. His position at the GA included developing an NCAA rules education program, creating and distributing national letters of intent, reviewing and confirming eligibility and amateurism, as well as coordinating the logistics of home sporting events. Hall was also an undergraduate compliance intern at Wingate from 2016-2018.

Hall completed a compliance internship at the University of Maryland in the summer of 2017. This included building the NCAA’s student-athlete training and coach education program, as well as overseeing renewals of scholarships for returning student-athletes, as well as monitoring, ranking, and reporting violations to the NCAA.

A native of Darlington, Maryland, Christian earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Wingate in 2018 and an MBA from WU in 2020. He was a two-year member of the Division II Bulldogs (2017-18 ) after attending and playing for a year at Pfeiffer University in North Carolina (2016).
