Kalamazoo Man makes history as the first black man to win Big Brother

At the beginning of July of this year, I wrote a quick article on Xavier Prather, a man from Kalamazoo who was going to appear on the Big Brother show. You can read more below:

Kalamazoo man could be the next Big Brother champion

Obviously, when I was writing this article, the series hadn’t even been created yet. My prediction that Xavier would step into the role of “champion” was just a guess. But it turns out I was right!

Congratulations to Xavier Prather who is this season’s winner on Big Brother! Not only did he win unanimously, taking home $ 750,000, his victory is historic. According to WWMT News Channel 3, Xavier is the first black man to win on Big Brother.

Now, to be honest, I usually avoid reality TV shows because in the past it was usually about plotting people plotting to take down each other using underhanded tactics. It’s just not my thing. However, either the genre has evolved or this season of Big Brother had some very nice competitors. Take a look at the support the last three give each other as they listen to surprise messages from their families:

So what does Prather intend to do with this $ 750,000? In his interview with WWMT, he said he paid off student loans, gave some to his family, but that we shouldn’t be surprised if we spot him at a local bar buying a round of drinks. .

He named one establishment in particular. He said,

My favorite place in Kalamazoo is probably Shakespeare’s Pub. It’s my favorite place where my friends and I always go because it’s right in the city center

Good to know.

Whether or not he buys you a drink, if you spot Xavier Prather in southwest Michigan, be sure to congratulate him not only for making history with his victory over Big Brother, but for portraying Kalamazoo at national television!

Speaking of representing Michigan on national television, there has been a surprising number of people from Michigan who participated in competitive programming. Do not believe me ? Check out this list:
