Smart appoints group sustainability director

Intelligent named Rowena Humphreys as Group Sustainability Director, a new role for the company. The appointment comes as Smart seeks to build on its sustainability credentials and deliver on its commitment to becoming a net zero company.

UK-based Humphreys will expand Smart’s commitment to sustainable business practices across its global set of offices. This encompasses the US headquarters in Nashville and Stadion Money Management’s newly acquired office in Athens, Georgia.

SageView adds government and public sector pension expert

SageView Advisory Group announced the addition of Javier Obando as Pension Plan Consultant in his office in Newport Beach, California.

An expert in government and public sector pension plans with 25 years of experience, Obando is responsible in his new role for providing pension and fiduciary services, plan advice, investment research, education and customer relationship management. He will also work closely with the wealth management industry to support plan participants who wish to elevate their level of financial well-being towards comprehensive wealth management services.

Obando was previously vice president of sales for Prudential Financial, focusing on tax-exempt and government markets. He also served as Vice President of Government Market Sales for the West Coast Region of Lincoln Financial Group. Previously, he held the positions of Associate Regional Sales Manager at Great-West Retirement Services and Director of Client Relations at Empower Retirement.

Obando is a member of the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators Inc. and the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers. He holds a bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic State University in Pomona. He is FINRA Series 6 and 63 registered and holds life and health insurance licenses in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.

Advisor Group adds business strategist and compliance expert

Advisor groupnetwork of independent wealth management companies, announces the appointment of Dimple Shah as Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Iryna Northrip as Chief Compliance Officer, Investment Advisory.

Shah joined Advisor Group on April 25 and reports to President and CEO Jamie Price. In this role, she is responsible for the growth strategy of Advisor Group and will serve on the executive committee.

Northrip joined May 9 and reports to Chief Risk Officer Steve Wastek. She will oversee the compliance of investment advisory portfolios across the network and contribute to the broader evolution of risk and compliance for the business.

Shah has over 20 years of experience developing corporate and business strategies for Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, she was Managing Director at Cielo Advisor, an independent strategy consulting firm, where she played a important role in shaping Advisor Group’s current strategic plan. Previously, Shah was Head of Corporate Strategy for LPL Financial. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Northrip was previously Vice President, Regulatory Advisor and Chief Compliance Officer for Mariner Wealth Advisors in Overland Park, Kansas. She was also a partner at Bryan Cave LLP and a senior consultant at Deutsche Bank. Northrip holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the International Christian University in Kyiv, Ukraine. She also holds a master’s degree in finance from the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg, Germany. She earned her law degree from the University of Missouri Law School in Kansas City.
