Inspirational speaker and life coach Tony Robbins is one of the few celebrities who tour Charlotte Motor Speedway ahead of the Coca-Cola 600, and he plans to participate in NASCAR races a lot more in the future. Robbins plans to invest in Trackhouse Racing, the Cup Series team jointly owned by Pitbull and Justin Marks.
âI love that it has a social impact while you enjoy the sport,â Robbins told The Observer.
Robbins said discussions about how much he invests would come later, but said he “would join at a certain level for sure.” He attends Sunday’s race as a guest of Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Christian Pérez. Robbins said he was a longtime friend of Pérez’s and the duo have collaborated on events and concerts.
âHe quotes my stuff better than I do,â Robbins said of the relationship.
Pérez is also present for the race and has circled around the garage area and on the grid, even leading his team in a cheer ahead of the scheduled 6pm race.
Trackhouse Racing is in its first year in the Cup Series with Mexican-born driver Daniel Suárez at the helm of the # 99 Chevrolet. The team set out on a mission to expand the sport to a wider audience and more diverse, especially by engaging NASCAR’s Hispanic fan base.
Pérez, who is of Cuban descent, joined the property in January, when it was announced the team would establish a STEM program at charter schools downtown in partnership with the organization Pérez ‘Sports Leadership Arts and Management (SLAM!), A non-educational organization. -profit that international fame helped establish seven years ago.
âIt just means we’re doing what we set out to do,â Marks told Robbins Interest Watcher. âWhich is cultivating a movement to be good storytellers, to have interesting news that is bigger than sports. And I think it’s starting to resonate with more and more people.
The team have won a top five and two top 10s in 14 races this season. Trackhouse is currently renting a charter to allow it to race all Cup Series races this year, but Marks said the goal is to become a two-car team as early as next year, and Robbins’ interest is a positive sign.
âIt’s connected to everyone in the world, to Fortune 500 companies, to other countries. If it helps us and gets involved in our platform, it just allows us to reach more and more people.
