Way of life
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Christian Academy (TWCA) Quiz Bowl team participated in the annual SCI://TECH Expo hosted by Education for Tomorrow Alliance (EfTA) of Montgomery County. The SCI://TECH competition gives students the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and test their knowledge of STEAM topics.
Students answered rapid-fire style questions covering topics such as biology, chemistry, physics, energy and space science. TWCA finished in second place, beating out fierce competitors including John Cooper, The Woodlands High School, College Park and Academy for Careers in Engineering and Science.
Pam Masau, club sponsor and science teacher, has been working with the team during weekly morning training since September. “I’m proud of them and their teamwork,” she said. “I couldn’t be happier with their performance.”
Woodlands Christian recently completed construction of a new state-of-the-art lab last fall, dedicated to expanding the STEAM program. New engineering and biotechnology courses will be added this year.
Known for its rigorous academic curriculum, the school offers college prep starting in grade 8 and SAT/ACT test prep for grades 9-11. One hundred percent of graduating seniors are admitted to colleges or universities. TWCA is now enrolling K-12 students for the 2022-2023 school year.
Woodlands Christian Academy is a K-12 preparatory school that integrates biblical faith learning and challenges students to reach their highest potential – spiritually, academically, physically, and socially. For more information, visit www.twca.net.
