Worship options available in the community

Local churches help their congregations pray in a variety of ways, from Zoom and Facebook Live services to YouTube videos to in-person services and more.

Below is an overview of what local churches are doing:

• Cedar hills – Cedar Hills hosts in-person gatherings on Thursdays and Sundays at 9 am and 10:30 am Online church rallies are live at 9 am and 10:30 am

To participate in any of its online services, go online to its website at cedarhillschurch.com.

• Lutheran Church of Christ our Redeemer – Christ our Redeemer, 1900 Pine St., offers in-person Sunday services. Education time begins at 9 a.m., followed by worship at 10 a.m. (with the children’s church).

Services also begin every Sunday evening at 6 p.m. on the church’s Facebook page or can be found online at corsandpoint.org.

• Clark Fork United Methodist Church – Clark Fork United Methodist Church offers in-person Sunday services starting at 11:15 am Worship is led by Pastor GW Bill Warren.

• First Lutheran Church – The First Lutheran Church has Sunday worship at 9 a.m. in the main shrine. The congregation meets with current Panhandle Health recommendations for large gatherings in place. For more information, visit www.firstlutheransandpoint.org.

• First Presbyterian Church – The First Presbyterian Church of Sandpoint is an Earth Care certified congregation within the Presbyterian Church (United States).

The congregation switched to summer worship hours, with services starting at 9:30 a.m.

It follows recommended guidelines for social distancing, including wearing face masks, which are provided if participants do not bring their own. Please Note: If you are at high risk, if anyone in your household is at high risk and / or if you or someone in your household is not feeling well, please stay safe and stay home.

• Harvest Valley Worship Center – The church, 86 Hidden Valley Road, meets for worship on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m.

The livestream is available on the church’s Facebook page at 11 a.m.

• Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit – The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, 55 Rocky Point Road at US 2, Dover, has in-person (Holy Eucharist) worship on Sundays at 10 a.m. with Vicar Reverend Dave Walker. The congregation also holds a Bible study at the church at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Everyone is welcome.

• Church of New Life – The New Life Church, 1925 N. Boyer, has online and church services for its Sunday service at 10 am. Go online at newlifescc.com or join the congregation on Facebook.

• Newman Community Bible Church: The Newman Community Bible Church is located at 9230 Sagle Road, Sagle.

• Northside Christian Community – Northside Christian Fellowship, 4400 Colburn-Culver Road, has resumed its normal schedule with Sunday school starting at 9:15 a.m. and service at 10:45 a.m.

Special measures will be taken to maintain the recommended social distancing. Information can be found on the church’s website at wncfchurch.net.

• North Summit Church – Services will take place at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. (with children’s services) and 11 a.m. For more information, visit the church online at northsummit.online.church.

• River of life – River of Life offers online and in-person services at 702 Church Street every Sunday at 10:30 am Individuals can view the services live or archived online at sandpointriveroflife.org as well as on the River of Facebook. Life Fellowship ”page.

In addition, on Mondays at 6 pm, a “Back to Basics” class is led by Pastor Justin Gardner.

• Sandpoint Church of the Nazarene – Sandpoint Church of the Nazarene invites the community to join their congregation for live interior services at 8:30 am, 9:30 am and 10:30 am on Sunday or online on Sunday afternoon. • Saint Joseph Catholic Church – The church organizes a service in person. For more information, go online to the church’s website at st-joseph-church.net.

• United Methodist of Sandpoint – Sandpoint United Methodist Church has in-person worship at 9:30 am Social distancing and masks are protocol. Information: 208-263-4232.

• Sravasti Abbey – Sravasti Abbey, the Buddhist monastery near Newport, broadcasts its teaching on the Abbey’s live broadcast channel at sravastiabbey.org or visit livestream.com/sravastiabbey. The abbey is closed to visitors for the moment.

• Church of the Victory – Victory Church offers on-site and online services.

On-site services begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, with social distancing, disinfectant available, and masks optional. A separate exit is available for those who do not wish to exit through the main hall where people congregate. Online services are available at vbcsagle.com.
